The Jusuf Nurkić Foundation, a member of The Giving Back Fund Family of Charities, supports Jusuf and Emina’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. The Foundation is committed and dedicated to creating sustainable change to improve the lives of youth, women, and the Bosnian community by providing access to healthcare, education, and various other community resources. The Foundation currently operates in Portland, Oregon, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other communities throughout the world.

In Loving Memory of Hana Lolić

Jusuf Nurkić

NBA star Jusuf Nukrić was born in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina and grew up during the Bosnian War. This experience inspired in him a sense of duty to Bosnia and Herzegovina and to the Bosnian international community. Affectionately known as the Bosnia Beast, Jusuf is dedicated to responding to the needs of his home country and to doing his part to create a brighter future.

After years of low-key but essential charity work, including providing food, shelter and medical supplies to vulnerable people in both his home country and neighboring Croatia, where he played his basketball before moving stateside, Jusuf launched his own foundation in 2020.

Emina Duric

Born and raised in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Emina’s passion for health and wellness was fueled by her family from an early age. Emina and her brother were raised by her father, a surgeon and her mother, a pharmacist.

Emina is committed to and passionate about protecting and advocating for the rights of women and children and remains a champion of and for the health, wellness, and safety for all. Having grown up in Bosnia and Herzegovina and now living in the United States, she provides critical and valuable insight and input into the priorities, culture and systems of the Foundation.

Emina lives with her finacée, Jusuf, and enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends.
